Questions about the Bohra calendar
What is today's date in the Bohra calendar?
Today (17 Oct 2026) is 7 Jumada al-Ula 1448H in the Dawoodi Bohra Misri calendar.
What is the Bohra (Misri) calendar?
The Dawoodi Bohra calendar, also called the Misri calendar, is a calculated (tabular) Hijri calendar from the Fatimid tradition. Months alternate between 30 and 29 days, and Zilhaj gains a day in 11 of every 30 years, so every date and miqaat is known in advance.
Why can Bohra dates differ from other Hijri calendars?
Most Hijri calendars begin each month when the new moon is sighted, which varies by country. The Misri calendar is calculated, so the same date applies everywhere and can be a day or two apart from sighting-based calendars.
When is Ashara Mubaraka 1449H?
Ashara Mubaraka 1449H runs from 1 to 10 Moharram al-Haraam, which is 5 Jun 2027 to 14 Jun 2027.
When is Eid ul-Fitr 1448H in the Bohra calendar?
Eid ul-Fitr falls on 1 Shawwal al-Mukarram 1448H, which is 8 Mar 2027.
